Professional experience
• June 2013 to present:
Researcher at Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics of the National Research Council, ISTEC-CNR (Faenza, Italy) in Bioceramics and Bio-hybrid Composites Group.

• April 2009 to May 2013:
Post-Doc at Rizzoli Ortophaedic Institute, Biomechanics and Technology Innovation Laboratory (Bologna, Italy; Prof. M. Marcacci) in collaboration with Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics – National Research Council (Faenza, Italy) in the group of Dr. A. Tampieri.

• March 2011 to September 2011:
Visiting Scholar (Marco Polo Fellowship) at Columbia University, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Cellular Engineering Laboratory. New York (USA). Tutor Prof. C.T. Hung.

• October 2005 to January 2009:
PhD student in the project “Biomaterials for the central and peripheral nervous system regeneration after traumatic injury” in the Prof. Angelo Vescovi’s group at Department of Biotechnologies and Biosciences, University of Milano-Bicocca- Milan and Stem Cell Research Institute, San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milan – Italy.

PhD in Biology at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Development of the project entitled “Central and peripheral nervous system regeneration via nano-structured scaffolds” in the Prof. Angelo Vescovi’s group, Tutor Dr Barbara Costa.

National qualification to pursue professional works as biologist at the University of Urbino “ Carlo Bo”.

• February 2005:
M.Sc. in Biology at the University of Milano-Bicocca with a thesis entitled “Evaluation of paraquat effects during Xenopus laevis primary myogenesis” in the Prof. Marina Camatini’s group.
